Kalifornia is a simple map that works great for King of the Hill or Kill the Man with the Ball. It’s based on a prison motif with Troopers for Guards, BOBs for prisoners, and Fighters as the national guard called in to help deal with the situation. The elevators were designed to let you ride to the top and (just barely) jump to the hill at running speed using default physics. There are a few secrets, but anyone who jumps into a prison cell deserves to get locked in, right?
About the Author
Paul Mackinney works for a software developer and plays Marathon too much. His favorite individual carnage shareware map is “Siege of Nor’Korh” by Frigid Man, his favorite shareware net level is “Catwalk Fever”. He likes lots of Pfhorte’s features (the hammer tool!) and wishes that Forge had some of them. The entire Marathon-playing world owes a huge debt to Steve Israelson, author of Pfhorte, and Randall Shaw (aka Frigid Man), author of the Pfhorte Guide. Thanks, guys!
